1982 - 1992 Nike sports posters had equivalent mini 5 x 7” “poster cards” for store display purposes. These were produced in much smaller quantities than the posters and were given 6 digit NIKE identification numbers. We present the first published checklist for these poster cards which include Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Nolan Ryan, Bo Jackson, David Robinson, Wayne Gretzky, John McEnroe, Spike Lee and many other stars of the period.

14 NIKE Poster Cards Type 1 290246 to 290249
Finishing off the first group of the type 1 poster cards 290246 - 290249 are Oaklands pass defense, James Lofton, the Iconic 1978 Peachtree "Battle of Atlanta" and the Cubs Ryne Sandberg.
290246 No Passing 1984/85 Oaklands Mike Haynes, Vann McElroy, Mike Davis and Lester Hayes say "No Passing" . These four only played with each other in the 84 and 85 seasons
290247 Lofton 1985
Wide receiver James Lofton was a first round draft pick in 1978 by Green Bay. He was named to the Pro Bowl 8 times. By its presence in the 1985 Nike promo set this poster card is dated 1985.
290248 Battle of Atlanta 1985
The iconic 1978 poster of the Peachtree roadrace. Reissued several times by NIKE. By bookending , this must be a 1985 printing.
290249 Cornerstone 1985
Sandberg was traded by the Phillies along with Larry Bowa to the Cubs prior to the 1982 season. Sandberg emerged with a breakout season in 1984, batting .314 with 200 hits, 114 runs, 36 doubles, 19 triples, 19 homers, and 84 RBIs. He led the Cubs to the NL East title and won the National League MVP.
